Description

Windows XP Home Edition is designed for the Home User. While still based on the NT Kernel, it includes major differences from the Professional Edition of Windows XP.

• Roaming profiles
• File-level access control
• "C2" certification
• Automated System Recovery (ASR)
• Remote Desktop
• Client-side caching

• Administrative Tools option on the Start menu will still remain, but will possess only a subset of what Windows XP Professional Edition includes.

Network Functionality Changes

• Windows XP Home cannot join a Domain.

• Windows XP Home cannot recognise more than one Physical Processor. However, it does support Intel's HyperThreading Technology, allowing up to Two Virtual Processors to be recognised, and used as if Two Physical Processors existed.
